Dibrugarh - India's Original Tea City

The tea city Dibrugarh is one of the largest city of Assam, the name Dibrugarh derives from Dibrumukha. ‘Dibru’ word represent the river and ‘mukha’ means mouth which connects to make the name of city Dibrugarh. Bogibeel Bridge

Bogibeel Bridge is one of the major attraction place located 12Km ahead from our hotel. Bogibeel Bridge is a combined road and rail bridge over the Brahmaputra River in the northeastern Indian state of Assam which connect both lower and upper Assam. Bogibeel river bridge is the longest rail-cum-road bridge in India, measuring 4.94 kilometers over the Brahmaputra river. As it is situated in an earthquake-prone area it is India's first bridge to have fully welded steel-concrete support beams that can withstand earthquakes of magnitudes up to 7 on the Richter Scale. It is Asia’s 2nd longest rail-cum-road bridge and has a serviceable period of around 120 years. It is the 5th longest bridge in India after Bhupen Hazarika Setu, Dibang River Bridge, Mahatma Gandhi Setu and Bandra-Worli Sea Link.

Dehing Patkai WildLife sanctuary

Dehing patkai wildlife sanctuary one of the place loaded with flora, fauna and avifauna located 104Km from our hotel. The Complete virgin rainforest sanctuary, which is very rich in biodiversity located in Dibrugarh while some spill over into the Tinsukia district covers an area of 231.65 square km. Mainly Dirok rain forest, Upper Dihing River, and Jeypore separate the sanctuary in 3 parts, also Dehing Patkai national park is home of Dibru-Deomali and Patkai Elephant Reserve.

The beauty and attraction of Dehing Patkai is different verities of ferns like epiphytes, wild banana, orchids, arums, climbers and lianas in this humid forest habitat. Hollong, Mekai, Dhuna, Uriyam, Nahar, Samkothal, Bheer, Hollock, Nahor and Au– tenga (elephant apple) are widely grown in this forest. The towering Hollong tree which is also the state tree of Assam dominates the emergent layer of this rainforest.

Jeypore Rainforest

The beauty of nature - Jaypur rainforest The green paradise, 64 KM away from our hotel. The biodiversity rain forest spread of 108 sq. km is an attraction point for each tourist who visited upper Assam, Dibrugarh.

The mesmerizing viewed place allows exploring its beauty with 102 spaces of the orchid flower and 50 meters Long Hollong tree which spread its beauty to the whole forest. The forest is surrounded by different floras like Ajae, Segun, Nahar, Bohot, Sam and fauna like Elephants, Hornbills, Leopards, Flying Squirrels, Pythons, Spotted Deer, and Langurs.

Chabua

From the British era, Dibrugarh hosts many tea gardens dating. 32Km from Dibrugarh a place called Chabua where this tea production started and it's running successfully. The word Chabua consists of two words: Chah which means "tea" and bua which means plantation. Later on, Chahbua became Chabua and the place got its name. In 1837, the first English tea garden was established at Chabua in Upper Assam, and in 1840, the Assam Tea Company began the commercial production of tea in the region, run by indentured servitude of the local inhabitants. Beginning in the 1850s, the tea industry rapidly expanded, consuming vast tracts of land for tea plantations. By the turn of the century, Assam became the leading tea-producing region in the world..

Chabua Air Force Station

During World War II, Chabua Air Force Station was constructed on the outskirts of the town. Chabua airfield was one of the largest bases used by the USAAF Air Transport Command to ferry supplies and personnel across The Hump to China in World War II. Chabua was headquarters for both the Assam and Bengal Wings of the India-China Division, ATC; and the operating base for the flying squadron of the 1333rd AAF Base Unit.

On March 8, 2011, Chabua inducted the Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter aircraft. The initiation was done through a symbolic ceremony with the inaugural flight of the Sukhoi Su- 30MKI taking off from here. It also performed an overshoot before landing. Chabua is the second airbase in the northeast after Tezpur to house the Sukhois, capable of a cruising speed range of 3,200 km, which can be more than doubled with mid-air refueling by IL-78 aircraft. The deployment of the Su-30MKI to Chabua is aimed at building up military capabilities in the border region with China.

Kaziranga National Park, which hosts two-thirds of the world's great one-horned rhinoceroses is located 200km from our hotel. The sanctuary spill over to 3 major districts of Assam known as Golaghat, Karbi Anglong, and Nagaon. one of the world's highest density of tigers protected area is Kaziranga. The park is also home to large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer.

Kaziranga is also well recognized for avifaunal species, Important birds, and birdlife. Kaziranga, The Eastern Himalaya biodiversity Hotspot lineup, a mix of park high species diversity and visibility. The sanctuary achieved impactable success in wildlife conservation compared to other protected areas in India.
